umlaute \ddot{a} in math-mode?

Hi,
maybe i found a bug in klyx?
I need a german "ae" and a big "Ue" which is normally possible
with 

\ddot{a} and \ddot{U} 

in TEX-Mode.It works in lyx-1.0, but not in klyx-0.9.9.

Any idea?
