Hi, I'm not sure what your OS is but if you're on Linux here are a couple of options: If you start LyX on the command line, you can do alias lyx="lyx -x 'ui-toggle statusbar'" If you start it by double-clicking, do a search for lyx.desktop and change the "Exec" line accordingly.
