The document class is valid for the complete document and documents cannot be nested. Wizards can create document classes that include features from another document class. Some such mixed-document classes pre-exist, e.g. beamer-article. For CV in report, I don't know of such a mixed class and suppose that including the PDF (via the pdfpages inset) seems the most practical way. Günter
