Scott, Interesting. That's what I do when pasting highlighted text from all applications, but it has not been working from lyx with my logitech trackball. However, after reading your response I discovered that if I first press the scroll wheel, then the middle button, it works. Very strange, but as long as I can do the copy/paste I don't care what sequence of moving parts needs to be done. Thanks very much! Best regards, Rich
