Hi— I do not know how to use LyX “bug reporting” and hope you can help me.
I have been unsuccessful in getting LyX 2.3.6.2 to work on my MacBookPro running OS 12.6. I downloaded your DMG file many time thinking that perhaps there was a transmission error. But nothing works. Even tried a mirror. Here is a partial list of problem that I have encountered: (1) When opening LyX, the word LyX appears briefly on the Menu Bar and then disappears completely. The main LyX window never opens. (2) Sometimes I get a message about needing to Reconfigure LyX. When I try to do so, I get a message that it failed. (3) Sometimes I get a message that the cite engine is missing. (4) The file LyX-2.3 located in /Library/Application Support/ contains ONLY an empty cache file. (5) Once-- do not recall exactly what I was doing at the time-- I got a message that said something like, “You have encountered a bug in LyX.” I have spent at least 4 or 5 hours trying various alternatives in hopes of getting LyX to work. None have been successful. Will you please let me know by Reply email what I should do now? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
