Thank you all for your input. I conclude that there is a risk, however little, that something _can_ go wrong. Since I cannot afford to break anything for the next months, I think I’ll play it safe and delay the upgrade. I need to learn MacOS better first. (Marcus: I didn’t even know that the downgrade relied on Time Machine…) In the meantime, there’s a couple of very minor annoyances that I cannot solve alone; I’ll ask about them in another thread.
