Hi, Before to make this question I spent several hours trying to use Start Appendix Here. I can't see any different behavior or output look than Chapter* or Section*. User's Guide said: 3.3.4.5 ... numerical chapter or section labels will be changed to letter. But I can't get such behavior. Then I make this question. My error was to use chapter* and section*. I agree that the wording of section 3.3.4.5 is not the best one, but what they wanted to say is that when you insert "Start Appendix Here" every chapter and/or sections will be turned into new appendices. Try just to create a new section.
