tetex-bin. tetex-base, tetex-extra, tetex-htm, tex4ht are installed, so is gs, etc. There were no issues installing and I manually ran texhash after Lyx was installed.
any suggestions?

Have you tried reconfiguring LyX? If it doesn't help, you might try
running 'sh configure' in the LyX resources directory (where you can see
the output from the script), to see if it finds tetex.
