Now that is possible to monitor the cpu temperature of my macbookpro in linux, I was wondering the following:
How can I control the system fan, that cools the shared heat-pipes and heat-sinks for the CPU+GPU+NorthBridge ?
I would like to make the laptop cooler, with the help of the allways great linux OS and its developer and user comunity!
The idea is to have a simple comand line tool to speedup or down the system fans.
Is this allready possible?
After that I can build a integrated manager that monitors temperature, cpu speed, and acts acordingly, for instance:
cpu temp above threshold_hot, set fan speed to max.
cpu temp above threshold_warm *and* cpu at max freq, set fan speed to max, (just a example using cpu speed _and_ cpu temp
cpu temp below threshold_warm, lower fan speed,
cpu temp below threshold_cold, set fan speed to min..
Thanks in advance.
