Um, looks like I missed the original question, but as far as I know, the
MacBookPro Core2Duo has a different (builtin) usb keyboard from the
others and it will only work once out of 5-10 times during grub/lilo
phase. As it works during rEFIt and when USB has been properly loaded by
the kernel one would assume that some kind of patch would help. I'd be
happy to help to track this down if any grub/lilo expert hints where to
start digging...
