hi guys. i've just built the uvcvideo kernel module. i'm using
2.6.22.1+mactel on Debian Etch. when booting, my 15" MBP C2D stalls
after these lines for 30-60 seconds:
input: HID 05ac:1000 as /class/input/input6
input: USB HID v1.11 Mouse [HID 05ac:1000] on usb-0000:00:1d.3-1
usbcore: registered new interface driver hid
drivers/hid/usbhid/hid-core.c: v2.6:USB HID core driver
after this, it scrolls through screens and screens of output and
eventually dies with this:
Kernel panic - not syncing: Out of memory and no killable processes...
to get around this, i created /etc/modprobe.d/uvcvideo with the
following contents:
install uvcvideo /bin/true
so that the module wouldn't actually get loaded. this allows me to boot.
i figured that if i loaded the iSight firmware before the module, all
would be good. however, replacing the contents of
/etc/modprobe.d/uvcvideo with this didn't help (all on one line):
install uvcvideo /usr/sbin/macbook-isight-firmware-loader
lib/firmware/AppleUSBVideoSupport; /sbin/modprobe uvcvideo
does anyone have any suggestions for what i should do?
