Hello, I had a quite pleasant surprise today when I noticed that fakeroot "just works" with SB2. This means that it is possible that debian packaging tools could work. I'm not saying they do, and I can't test them myself, but anyone who has experience in working with them, and who is not afraid of doing a little experimenting would be most welcome to give it a shot.
SB2 seems to work on both x86 and x86_64 architectures, on both Gentoo and Debian. I seem to have fixed a large number of problems after wrapping the openat() & co functions which were missing previously. I'm aiming at perhaps creating the first release of SB2 at end of February, depending if I get positive feedback about the debian packaging tools. You can get the source from: http://rahina.org/sb2/ It is not entirely out of the question that you could already today use SB2 to build software for the Maemo platform, but you would need to know exactly what you're doing. /lauri PS. Test reports from people who have a RedHat, Fedora or SuSE box would be appreciated. _______________________________________________ maemo-developers mailing list [email protected] https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-developers
