Surely you either need one _now_ for business reasons (in which case you can buy one), or you just want one, in which case whining about how Nokia won't tell you right now whether or when they're going to give you one on the cheap is likely to be counterproductive at best. Christmas was last month.
Nokia do need to start taking 'open' seriously if they want this platform to be a true success - just look how many questions on this list are about the closed aspects of the code and how many people there are itching to work on those issues. We need to persuade them to open the source, not complain about how they don't give out enough free hardware.
