Did you connect to the fuppes server web page to edit the configuration?
There's a section on which hosts are allowed to connect.

You were on the right track. The author sent me an email explaining the
setup. First the UPnP Media server runs on the same IP address as the web
interface. For me it was defaulting to 127.0.0.1 (or localhost). This is
what was keeping the N800 from seeing my server. The setting is under
"Network settings" and you want to change the IP address. Leave the http
port as 0 unless you _want_ to change it. The allowed IP addresses allows
everybody if it is blank, so the default should be fine for most people.

You have to restart fuppes for everything to come back up on the right ip
addresses.

Cheers,

Jae
