I wrote a howto for writing C plugins for Hildon Desktop with the new GTypeModule-based API. All plugin types (Task Navigator, Status Bar and Home) are covered.
I'm not using Sardine, but this looks like a huge improvement over the old plugin system! I'm looking forward to eventually being able to use it.
