An app I'm developing was crashing the entire UI a while ago in the way you described. In my case I was using a hypen character in my DBUS service name. Thinking about it now, it seems like a bug in the DBUS service lookup code and I should report it! My fix was just to remove the hyphen - thanks to whoever was on IRC that pointed me in the right direction (it was a nightmare to track down). Hope that sheds some light. Mark
