No, that's probably solved by http://www.conduit-project.org/ already. Which would be nice to have on Maemo - and (using the search function there) seems to be kind of available for Maemo already: http://www.conduit-project.org/wiki/0.3.5 (search for "Maemo" there) I don't know how far support goes, but Conduit sounds like an interesting project.
