Wouldn't

grep "^From "...

(or egrep, depending on your toolkit)

work better? Otherwise you grab any sentences that begin with "From " as
well.. like "From what I've heard..."

Of course you'll still get "<blank line>From ..." if people have
something similar for quote attributions.
