Alan,
I have a similar issue as Lisasoft (my employer) is starting a project
which is extending Mapbuilder and hence it will be beneficial for us to
have a release too.

I expect to have the upcoming 1.5alpha2 release of Mapbuilder out early
August.

A 1.5 release candidate should be out end of August, early September.

A stable 1.5 release should be out end of the year. (It is quite likely
we would be developing 1.6 by then too)

Getting a release out is primarily driven by developers cleaning up
outstanding issues. If it is important to you to get a release out, you
might want to factor in 1 to 2 weeks or your developer's time to ensure
the release meets your schedule.

If you don't have developers at hand, you can consider hiring one:
Look for "Commercial Support" at
