Dear friends and colleagues, As you may already be aware of MOm /Hellenic Society for the Study and Protection of the Monk Seal has been treating a newborn monk seal, found in great need since last month (press release <http://www.mom.gr/displayITM1.asp?ITMID=722&LANG=EN> ).
The pup was named Andriana, and was found orphaned and in a poor state, at Skopelos' Velanio beach (Greece) on November 15th by a local resident. Immediately she was transported to MOm's Mediterranean Monk Seal First Aid Station at Spata Attica. The initial veterinary examinations showed that the pup was in critical condition, dehydrated, malnourished and exhibiting symptoms of respiratory infection. Andriana is one of the youngest and most weakened monk seal pups that has ever been admitted to MOm's Rehabilitation Programme. *Her treatment aims at releasing her healthy back to her natural environment, after its completion in approximately five months*. *I am communicating with you seeking your financial contribution, and your support to our cause by forwarding this urgent call for help through your communication networks and contacts*.
