Dear all,

My co-authors and I are pleased to announce the recent publication of our short
note in Aquatic Mammals

Nicola J. Quick, Barbara Cheney, Paul M. Thompson, and Philip S. Hammond.
(2017). Can the Camera Lie? A Nonpermanent Nick in a Bottlenose Dolphin
(Tursiops truncatus). Aquatic Mammals 43(2), 156-161.

This note documents a dorsal fin nick on a bottlenose dolphin that seemingly
appears and then disappears within a day. We discuss the possible causes and
implications for those carrying out photo-id.
