Aditya Chakrabortty has a piece in the Guardian (UK) on the coming strike in the UK. His argument, which draws on IMF analysis, is that rising inequality is threatening capitalism and it can only be countered by union power. So he is in support of the strike. Of course, the crushing of union power has set in place a dialectic that has delivered suffering and poverty and economic imbalance. But capitalists will not listen to the likes of Chakrabortty. They will continue to wage class war on the rest of us. They will do so because that is what they do. Eventually someday, somewhere, they will pay a price. It will once more be the best of times and the worst of times. comradely Gary ________________________________________________ Send list submissions to: Marxism@lists.csbs.utah.edu Set your options at: http://lists.csbs.utah.edu/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com
