True, his focus is not on the economic roots of the Revolution. Quite the
contrary, which is what makes it interesting: he's trying to depict on what
bases the economy continues and shifts gears in the midst of horrific
genocide.
It never hurts to be reminded that even in the depths of the worst horrors,
people and regimes find ways to survive, to produce, invest, distribute and
consume.
The corollary of that being the need for revolutionaries to put forth a
vision of how a successful revolution would enable reorienting those
economic functions - a vision completely absent, as far as I can tell, from
the various oppositions' proclamations.
