We’ve had zombie banks; this is a zombie government.
It is a government which, emphatically, cannot perform the main task it
has set itself, of delivering on the Brexit vote from the 2016
referendum. It remains in office, with the ‘confidence’ of Tories and
DUP members, purely because it keeps the opposition out in lieu of any
productive goal: a carefully maintained political void. Theresa May's
10pm speech circled around that void, carefully saying nothing.
