I'm really sorry to hear that things have not been completely smooth for you. I'll do what I can to help.
Here's my development box: Maverick 2.0-b2 Windows XP Pro Sun JDK 1.3.1_02 Xalan 2.1 Tomcat 4.0.1 Orion 1.5.3 My production box is running JDK 1.3.0_01 and RedHat 7.2, but the rest is the same. I have tested Maverick with JDK 1.4 beta 3, but haven't upgraded to the release version yet. I'll probably do that tonight. I don't think there are any OS/JDK issues. The issues I know of are: Domify didn't work with the developer releases of Xalan 2.2, and may not work with the release. I suggest Xalan 2.1 for the time being. This completely slipped my mind when writing the 2.0 release notes. I guarantee we will get this working before the full release of Maverick 2.0. We'll look into it tonight. Orion 1.5.4's ServletResponseWrapper is incompatible with the Servlet API. I filed a bug report, and it has been fixed for the next release, whenever that will be. There isn't anything we can do about this. 1.5.4 was a major rewrite of many parts of Orion, and they screwed up a few things. Stick with 1.5.3 until 1.5.5 is ready. Tomcat v4 doesn't automatically offer the jaxp api to webapps, and the Maverick 2.0-b1 friendbook readme's didn't mention that you need to put xml-apis.jar in the tomcat/lib directory. The readme has been corrected in 2.0-b2. I cleaned up the categories a little and put the Xalan 2.2 bug in it. I suggest we use it as a TODO list as well, logging enhancement requests there.
