The 2.0 release candidate is out... this should be the last release before the final 2.0.0 release. We've been spending a lot of time adding features and almost no bugs have come up, so it's probably past time for a real release :-)
This release replaces the "lazy-load-templates" param on the XSLTransformFactory with "template-caching", which can be either "preload", "lazy", or "disabled".
