Hello, I think maverick.jar and your classes are not load by the same classloader For example if you put maverick.jar in myServer/lib and your classes in my-webapp/WEB-INF/classes it doesn't work.
Try to put maverick.jar in my-webapp/WEB-INF/lib Hop it can help you...
