Angela, As I recall, Tomcat gives you several places to dump jar files: there's the webapp's WEB-INF/lib/ directory, Tomcat's common/lib/ directory, and shared/lib. My general rule was to put everything related to the application into the webapp's lib/ whenever possible. Also, Tomcat ignores your CLASSPATH, so don't rely on that for loading classes. And make sure your JAVA_HOME is set correctly (best to point it to a JDK instead of just a JRE). Disclaimer: It's been a while since I've done anything with Tomcat. So take this advice with a shaker or so of salt. :) Regards, Thomas
