We have MaxDB 7.6.00.12 at Suse Linux 10 operating system. I want to clean all the time increasing backup history. I didn't find a way to do this. I tried to shutdown database then delete files dbm.knl and dbm.mdf at the Rundirectory. But after starting database these files appeared again with the same contents as before deleting.
