Hi Isaac, Official MOC 20696C (5days, 8 hours per day) is very briefly covering SCCM installation and configuration, but mostly concentrate on administration. In short:
* Describe the features Configuration Manager and Intune include, and explain how you can use these features to manage PCs and mobile devices in an enterprise environment. * Prepare a management infrastructure, including configuring boundaries, boundary groups, and resource discovery, and integrating mobile-device management with Microsoft Exchange Server. * Deploy and manage the Configuration Manager client. * Configure, manage, and monitor hardware and software inventory, and use Asset Intelligence and software metering. * Identify and configure the most appropriate method to distribute and manage content used for deployments. * Distribute, deploy, and monitor applications for managed users and systems. * Maintain software updates for PCs that Configuration Manager manages. * Use Configuration Manager to implement Endpoint Protection. * Manage configuration items, baselines, and profiles to assess and configure compliance settings and data access for users and devices. * Configure an operating-system deployment strategy by using Configuration Manager. * Manage mobile devices by using Configuration Manager and Intune. * Manage and maintain a Configuration Manager site. Here is the link to very detailed course outline on the web site of the learning center we used in the past but it is the same as for other official MOC providers/learning centers (I used this one just to illustrate what you can get and didn’t have a time to look up for local learning centers in your area: http://www.multihat.com/outline.asp?outline=20696). However, I don’t know for any other course that will cover just usage of SCCM (imaging or software deployment and monitoring). For our tech group I designed two short courses (SCCM basics and image deployment with practice lab on physical boxes (5 hours), and another one for applications deployment (4 hours if attendants already took image deployment course, otherwise 5 hours too)). I delivered first course to three groups of our techs, and it was very good received. I believe, if you take MOC 20696, you should be able to do the same – create the short course for each topic you want them to learn about. Hope that helps! Does anyone know of a canned training class that covers just the usage of CM instead of the building and configuration of the servers and service included with the usage. -- Isaac Holmes IT Engineering Specialist University of Notre Dame 320 IT Center Notre Dame, IN 46556 (574) 631-3254
