Except, well, MeeGo isn't really anything like the creature you seem to be imagining it to be. There's plenty of proprietary stuff in MeeGo, and I believe it'll be a strong platform for it given the realities of living in an imperfect world (where open-source alternatives aren't better simply because they're open source). Following similar practices for the infrastructure of using proprietary stuff where it makes sense to seems like a reasonable thing to me.
