Has there been work or plans on having Mesa install pkgconfig *pc file(s)?

Nobody's brought it up. Seems like it might be useful.

And as there been work or plans to having Mesa use autoconf/automake/aclocal for the build?

We used to have autoconf/automake/libtool in Mesa but I threw it out. In practice, it seemed to seldom work on anything but GNU/Linux or closely related systems (ironic, huh?).

Since nobody was actively maintaining the autoconf files and I wasn't interested in trying to figure them out they were abandoned.

It would take a pretty strong, convincing argument for me to use it again.

I have been working on DragonFly and adding a Mesa/configs/dragonfly. I will provide my work and notes on this soon.

Great.
