cancelling a visual command

Hi all,

Since you can do a sequence of visual commands, I assume these are store 
somewhere and then executed on hide/show, go, etc.
Does anyone know how to cancel all of the pending visual commands?
Something along the idea of "visual effect none" (which doesn't do it)
