Hi Jay Patel, Insight provides log analysis capabilities. It does not provide any monitoring features yet. However, if you can log the events to the application logs, it can be used to analyze the logs and interpret events from it. The Insight team started on an initiative to implement scheduled parsing of log files and the ability to attach "listeners" for events based on log threshold (say no. of errors, severity of logs, categories of log events e.t.c). This however lost steam and we never got to committing it.
It appears from your mail that you may already be acquainted with Bindul. He is the best person to guide you on Insight use. The Insight code base is nicely structured for you to create an Eclipse IDE project out of. I recommend you check out the code from svn and have a look. Unfortunately we do not have much documentation on the design. The code is well documented though. The design is largely grouped under UI - Swing panels, Jtable model, Log interpreters/receivers, Preferences, Pagination and utilities around Search, Filtering e.t.c. Some of the more advanced features are with the Insight Eclipse plug-in. You may want to take a look at it later when you are comfortable with the Insight core classes.
