This happens in OpenBSD when a program passes NULL pointer to *printf family of functions. The bug reports should be directed upstream to individual packages. See, for example, a similar issue I filed to dunst's Github[1]. Apparently, some developers think passing NULL to *printf is a-okay. 😒 [1]: https://github.com/dunst-project/dunst/issues/1305
