The good Senator from Missouri, Claire McCaskill is in a very precarious position of being “on the bubble” in the upcoming national election in November 2012. I say “on the bubble” because she is probably one of the Democrats most likely to be defeated in a state that is generally very conservative and Republican leaning. McCaskill made her debut in the United States Congress as one of the now seemingly ill-fated congressional members elected in the obviously mass national mis-judgment of the change sought in 2006 when the GOP which had been the majority party for over a decade was swept out of office. However, it was not long before it was realized that the Democrats had mis-judged the mood of the country and began their strong-armed attempts of installing a Socialist form of government on the people which was roundly rejected and then two elections later in 2010, lost control of the House of Representatives and edged to within a mere three seats of losing their majority in the Senate. The country as a whole made changes within state governments from top to bottom in many cases and the mood of the country swung back to favor the GOP then and in projections for the next elections in 2012. Now a large number of Democrat held Senate seats could very possibly turn over to the Republicans in the elections of that year and perhaps even additional gains in the House to give the GOP strong margins of control in both houses. Claire McCaskill is in that area of Democratic doubt not only for the party problems of the Democrats, but some of her own doing that cast serious doubts on her credibility as a law-abiding citizen. It appears that the Senator and those within her inner circle of administration had fraudulently attempted to acquire government funding to which she was not entitled over the use of an aircraft of which she is a part owner along with her husband and friends. A government audit exposed that the plane was used extensively for trips between her home in St. Louis and Washington, DC. It was also used for flights around the state of Missouri in addition and in an effort to get “clean” McCaskill sent a check in the amount of $88,000 to the U. S. Treasury as soon as the story had been published. Sort of like how the Secretary of that same U. S. Treasury, Timothy Geithner immediately sent a check to his own Department to cover the missing income taxes that he had not paid. Do you suppose any Democrat will ever get a criminal citation or a jail sentence for doing things like that that other people would be sure to have happen to them? The Dems just pay up as though it was a routing thing; then again, with them, I guess it is. But as the TV pitchman loudly proclaims to his captive audience, “But wait; there’s more!” And sure enough there is. It now seems that Politico.com reported that McCaskill owed over $280,000 in taxes on the plane. WOW! Do these Democrats think that we Republicans must have to pay extra taxes to make up for the ones that they fail to pay? The gall they have to think that they can get away without paying their fair share of taxes and then get no punishment or penalties for doing so. It’s criminal; that’s what it is. But she has admitted to failing to pay five consecutive years (2006-2010) of St. Louis County Missouri personal property taxes on her private airplane totaling over $287,000. Is she properly contrite about this criminal activity; here is her response: “The Missouri Republican Party is going to try to ride this horse as long as they can. They’re going to try to make this as big a deal as they can. Them filing the ethics complaint is about as surprising as the sun coming up.” (politico.com) I had been relatively sure that McCaskill would not make the cut in the 2012 Senate elections for Missouri; now, if somehow she does get reelected, I can truthfully say that “CRIME DOES PAY”! Truman "Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." - John Adams “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” “The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.” “Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.” — Paul Joseph Goebbels, Reich Minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945 "It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." - Samuel Adams "The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." - Plato "Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not." - Thomas Jefferson ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This email and any attachments are confidential and may be protected by legal privilege.
