Hej Ross,
(please subscribe to the mjpeg-users mailing list for more feedback)
the driver is present, but wasn't supplied a card={something} parameter,
which means that the script that does the module insertion does something
wrong. But someone else with more up-to-date insights into the kernel
driver can answer this better than I can.

Gernot

Subject: Re: Buz Under Linux Fedora Core 4
I ran the cat file and can view several messages with the
following:
Aug 14 18:09:48 localhost kernel: Zoran MJPEG board driver version
0.9.5
Aug 14 18:09:48 localhost kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt
0000:02:09.0[A] -> Link [LNKG] -> GSI 9 (level, low) -> IRQ 9
Aug 14 18:09:48 localhost kernel: MJPEG[0]: Zoran ZR36057 (rev 1)
irq: 9, memory: 0xd5800000.
Aug 14 18:09:48 localhost kernel: MJPEG[0]: find_zr36057() - no
card specified, please use the card=X insmod option
Aug 14 18:09:48 localhost kernel: No known MJPEG cards found.
>From this I come to the same conclusion that my board is present in
the computer - the driver is on the computer - but somehow it is
not "found" by applications calling it.
Thanks,
Ross

Hej Ross !
I am not in this "business" anymore, but I guess people can help - did you
try an lspci ? Can you do an ls -l /dev/video ?
Try also a cat /var/log/messages to see the kernel output.
Hello:
Pardon the intrusion - I was reading your Buz paper on the SourceForge
MJPEG tools page. I am trying to get a Buz device to work under Fedora
Core 4. I have compiled and installed MJPEG. I also have followed your
directions:
* cd /dev
* mknod video0 c 81 0
* create a symlink with "ln -s video0 video"
I do have a video0 and video now listed in the directory /dev.
Do I have to put something in fstab after creating the above device??
Whenever I run lavrec, I get the following error. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. I can't see to get past this impass. The Zoran
hardware is listed in the KDE hardware browser as recognized and
working.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# lavrec -fa -d1 -U -n128 /root/downloads/eric.avi
**ERROR: [lavrec] Error opening video-device (/dev/video): No such file
or directory
++ WARN: [lavrec] Not ready for capture (state = 0)!
Segmentation fault
Thanks,
Ross
