I've read just the beginning of your mail, but first thing I'd try would be newer version of fcgid. 1.2 is pretty outdated if Debian numbering is the same as mod_fcgid numbering. The current version number is 2.2 I guess... just check the homepage of the project. Hope it helps a bit, al-Quaknaa
