I found a single Great Gray Owl this morning (about 7:15) 0.3 miles west
of Pietz's Road, sitting on one of the powerline poles along CR18.

Later I drove over to Palisade to look for the Varied Thrush. After 45
minutes of waiting and watching with no luck, I took a break and left.
When I returned about 10 minutes later, the Varied Thrush flew into the
small tree to the left of the fire hydrant. After about 10 minutes
there, it flew down to the ground beneath the feeders, but almost
immediately something spooked it and the other birds at the feeders as
well, and it went behind the house. It seems to be rather cautious, so
I would recommend keeping a little distance. Note that the Varied
Thrush went to the feeders just to the left of the house. There are
also feeders to the right of the house, back in the trees. If you park
on the north-south street facing the house, you can watch both sets of
feeders. I'm not sure which feeders it was originally found at.
