There have been 5 trumpeter swans (2 adults, 3 juveniles) on the north end of Lake Vadnais in Shoreview for the last two days. They are very close to shore and the road and don't seem bothered by the fishermen who were casting within a few feet of them today. They have been accompanied by a flock of mallards who seem to be taking advantage of whatever the swans are stirring up from the bottom.
