The MOU Photo Gallery now has 422 species. Photos from past copies of The Loon provided many of the missing accedental species. Thanks to Bob Janssen for the loan of his copies to scan and add to the gallery.
The birds still missing are: Ferruginous Hawk Common Eider Willow Ptarmigan Crested Caracara Black Rail Purple Gallinule Dovekie White-throated Swift Williamson's Sapsucker Violet-green Swallow Hermit Warbler Kirtland's Warbler MacGillivray's Warbler Painted Redstart Brewer's Sparrow Eskimo Curlew The 16 species give a species count of 438 instead of 434 (The current MN species count). This is because some of the photographs are of birds that are on the AOU checklist, but are not on the MN checklist. They were photographed in the wild, but may have been escapes. Many of the photographes scanned from The Loon are candidates for improved images. In the past many of the photographs were published in Black-and-White. --- David Cahlander david at cahlander.com Burnsville, MN 952-894-5910 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
