It's not a snowy owl or black backed woodpecker, but I dare say I had the only 
yard in Minnesota yesterday with a Savannah sparrow (4th winter record for 
state?) and eastern towhee (and barred owl thrown in for accent).  Unlike the 
SASP, the towhee does not seem cold stressed.  Its biggest challenge to 
survival is avoiding the sharpie that frequents the neighborhood.
