At least 240 Greater White-fronted Geese were at the west end of L Byllesby
this afternoon (1:15 PM). They were most visible when in flight (6+ eagles
around). At other times they were far south, with many of them in Goodhue
County. A scope is necessary.

Just NW of CR 85 (Hogan) and CR 86 (Rochester) was a flock of approx. 300
longspurs. Also nearby was a wetland with 42 Tundra Swans. This longspur
flock was rather uncooperative as they never landed near the roads. An even
larger flock along Emery, between 180th and 170th, was most cooperative,
however. I was able to leisurely view many of them through a scope. Some
were right along the road. A good number of Snow Buntings were also present
here

Finally, the prairie race Merlin was at Acacia Cemetery in the late
afternoon.
