I apologize for the late report. My husband, Noah, and I visited St. Louis County recently, primarily to bird Sax-Zim Bog. This was our second visit to the area; our first visit was in Dec. 2009. We had fun birding the bog, even though we missed our target birds (Great Gray and Northern Hawk Owl). Since we live in southern Indiana, our bird "highlights" on the trip were Gray Jays, Black-billed Magpies, Boreal Chickadees, Pine Grosbeaks, White-winged Crossbills and Common Redpolls.
Thanks to Mike Hendrickson for all the information he has shared on the 'net about birding Sax-Zim Bog.
