The egrets were seen by the Minn Birding Weekends group at the N Ottawa
impoundment this afternoon along with at least a few thousand shorebirds on the
extensive mudflats. Among the 15 species present were Black-bellied Plovers,
about 60 Hudsonian Godwits, Sanderlings, a juv Long-billed Dowitcher, and
Red-necked Phalaropes. The impoundment is along the Grant-Traverse Co line, 2-4
mi N of MN Hwy 9.

The Prairie Falcon was seen today by part of the MBW group as it circled over
the Wheaton sewage ponds, but it was quickly lost from sight as it gained
elevation and seemed to be heading north.
