This morning I was fortunate to find up to 13 red crossbills in Swift County.
They were feeding in spruce trees at the edge of Camp Kirk WMA just west of CR
33, and just off CR 87. 87 goes west of 33, then turns north, and then turns
west again. Right before it curves west the last time is where the crossbills
were on the east side of the road in a planting of about 7 rows of spruce trees
in the WMA.
