It's safer to encode through your ripper, be it CDex, EAC or Audiograbber (Audiogtabber being the simplest of the three), that way you have better control of your tagging, be it through a command line thru the encoder or through the Ripper's tagging routines. BTW, The recommended versions of Lame can be found at the www.rarewares.org<http://www.rarewares.org>mp3 section, there you will find the 3.96.1 bundle, the 3.90.3 bundle (modded for preset medium and not) and the latest 3.97alpha, wich is alpha 12, i suggest you get your encoder(s) from there. I use 3.90.3 modded with preset standard, just because the modded one writes the name of the preset used on the Lame tag, otherwise, the files created by both the 3.90.3 modded and normal versions witht the same preset are identical. Newer versios of Lame also do this. _______________________________________________ mp3encoder mailing list mp3encoder@minnie.tuhs.org http://minnie.tuhs.org/mailman/listinfo/mp3encoder
