Members of Minneapolis Issues, Some of you may remember me from some time back. I must admit that I did temporarily unsubscribe myself as I could not keep up with the sheer volume of entries. However, I have resubscribed and also received a submission from a friend that was on Mpls. Issues on or near Nov. 8 from Jordan Kushner. He asked if there were going to be challengers for Council seats in a number of wards. He asked, "In review the responses about prospective or rumored city council candidates, I noticed that no challengers have been mentioned for Wards 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7. Is everyone satisfied with representation in all of those districts"? Jordan Kushner Powderhorn I am pleased to announce to Minneapolis Issues that I will be running for Minneapolis City Council, Ward 1. I will campaign on these four main points: 1) reforming corporate welfare in City Hall (including NO public monies for stadiums and the like), 2) Strong neighborhoods and neighborhood associations, 3) promoting affordable housing, and 4) continued revitalization of Central Avenue. So, to answer Jordan's question, I am not satisfied with my representation in Ward 1. I'd be happy to hear any response. --- Sincerely, Gary Bowman, Jr. Ward 1- Audubon Park Get FREE Email/Voicemail with 15MB at Lycos Communications at http://comm.lycos.com
