Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board Commissioners Meeting

5:00pm, Wednesday, January 7

Held at the MPRB building at 2117 West River Road
(just north of Broadway Pizza at the corner of Broadway and West River Road)

Free parking in a large lot in front of the building; on bus lines 20 and 32.

For those of you who have concerns about or interest in the governance of the Minneapolis Park Board, or in the direction the parks are going, attending commissioners meetings whenever possible is an important activity that citizens can take on. With a budget of about $63 million, and as the fourth largest taxing entity on your property tax bill for property in Minneapolis , the Park Board is worth watching.

The next meeting of the commissioners is this Wednesday (January 7) starting at 5:00PM. There are further meetings on two later Wednesdays this month, as well, from what I know so far.

If you have never been to the "new" MPRB headquarters building on West River Road, it is very easy to find. Just off Interstate 94 at the Broadway exit, or just across the river from Northeast on the Broadway bridge, it's immediately adjacent to the well-known Broadway Pizza on corner. The commissioners meet upstairs on the second floor, in the board room at the end of the hallway to the left at the top of the main stairs.
