I am using MS Access 2000.

I have a text field that contains data similar to this:

LONDON 1
LONDON 2
PARIS 3
AMSTERDAM 1

For some strange reason, any entry containing the number '1' acquires a leading
zero, resulting in LONDON 01, LONDON 2, PARIS 3, AMSTERDAM 01.

The number of letters varies, but the zero only appears when the following
number is a '1'.

I really need to keep the number as a part of the field, so I'm looking for a
solution that will enable me to do this; i.e. setting up an additional numeric
field won't be acceptable.

Thanks.
